Mō tō mātou rōpū | About our team
The Strategic Planning and Performance team develops MPI’s strategy, supports our Senior Leadership Team with information and assurance on organisational performance and the delivery of strategic activities, and provides oversight of key organisational performance indicators. The team is also responsible for the development of key statutory reporting to Parliament through MPI’s strategic intentions and Annual Report, and develops the non-financial reporting components of the Ministry’s annual Estimates. The wider Strategy Directorate establishes and supports MPI’s central Governance functions, provides project support for the organisation, and promotes organisational improvement through providing a customer focussed service design approach to business functions.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
Due to growing demand, and a recent vacancy our team has a new opportunity for an experienced advisor to join us at senior or principal advisor levels. Your key role will be to draw from your experience and provide thought leadership within the team around performance monitoring and reporting. This includes work to maintain a high quality set of output measures across the business, ensuring the Ministry’s non-financial performance information in the estimates is correct, developing reporting to our Senior Leadership Team on organisational performance, and overseeing and writing the Annual Report. You will be expected to provide advice to our senior leaders and executive team as a trusted advisor to support their decision making.
The Strategy Directorate as a whole operates with a degree of flexibility around resources so you will periodically be expected to contribute to projects across the span of the Directorate’s responsibilities. This potentially includes contributing to Strategy development, supporting major organisational leadership events, and assisting with governance and budget work when required.
