About the role

In this challenging and varied role, you will take the leadwith providing expert advice and coordination of procurement and inventoryactivities across all aspects of our business. Supported by a strong leadershipteam and reporting to the SteelServ Maintenance Superintendent, you willactively own procurement initiatives that support the delivery of tangiblebenefits to our business and maintain the integrity of our systems andmanagement processes.

Your focus will be on providing a service that is in linewith our business vision strategy and plan. Key to your success will be theability to manage inventory levels to ensure delivery on time performancewhilst on a day-to-day basis running our store’s facility, including inwardsand outwards goods. A strong focus of this role will be supporting themaintenance team with both technical and administrative support.

As our Procurement specialist, you will be a driven andengaging individual who thrives within a busy work environment. Your experiencewith managing processes simultaneously will be key to your success in thisrole, along with strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach tobuilding solid stakeholder relationships with cross functional and crossorganisational teams. You will have the opportunity to apply your strongunderstanding of procurement practices and mechanical knowledge or experienceworking in heavy industry and workshop environments to this role.

More about you, ideally you will have;

  • Minimum of NCEA level 2 or equivalent
  • Mechanical Trade Qualification and forkliftlicence is desirable
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with CAT and VOLVOonline parts and technical support
  • Experience in operational environments
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and high-level knowledge andfamiliarity with Inventory and Maintenance Systems including JDE, MEX andDynamics
  • Mechanical knowledge – understand minimumspecifications and standards of machinery and equipment
