We have initiated a long-term programme to rebuild Landonline, the system used to manage New Zealand’s land information, and we are looking for people to join the team and make a valuable contribution to a programme of work that will have a positive impact across New Zealand. 

Landonline is crucial to supporting the New Zealand way of life. There’s no other way to buy land or a house in New Zealand, and it provides important information to be able to respond to emergencies, natural disasters and biosecurity concerns. We are looking for motivated people who are keen to share their knowledge in our in a diverse, agile team environment.


About the role:

As Product Owner you will be responsible for maximising the value of the product(s) and services created. You will develop and maintain a vision for the product and empower your team by providing clear purpose and direction.

You will help to grow the Product Owner practice within the Rebuilding Landonline programme and across LINZ. You will mature the Product view within your team and lead by example within the programme.


About you:

We’re looking for a motivated and evidence-driven product owner or manager. With a busy work agenda ahead, you will need to hit the ground running so you will ideally have strong leadership skills and a successful track record building trusted relationships to understand and anticipate stakeholder needs. You will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience building engaging relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
  • Proven understanding the mechanics of product management, including good analytics in data interpretation and analysis of customer behaviours and needs
  • Have an understanding of strategic and business planning processes, and applying this to build and maintain road maps
  • Proven methods for managing a product backlog, including feature prioritisation and scope adjustment, in an agile context
