The Programme Business Analyst will support the GeoNet Programme and the wider Data Science and Geohazards Department to effectively develop, deliver and augment the products and services funded by the GeoNet contracts and led by the Data Science and Geohazards Department. There is a strong focus on delivering stakeholder (internal and external) value.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a person with a demonstrated Business Analyst background to be part of the GeoNet Programme Team.
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following:
A minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience in business analysis
Experience of delivering process improvements, with or without an “IT systems” component
Presenting information in different formats for non-technical audiences
Helping business owners to prepare business cases (the aspects relating to business need etc)
Requirements Analysis
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall ways of working
Ability to facilitate groups
Experience of business process modelling/mapping
Understanding of process improvement, change management and risk mitigation methodologies
Able to build good working relationships and connections across multiple workstreams and with business users
Able to contribute to / participate in project management practices (planning, scheduling, risk management, reporting)
Critical thinking, strong analytical skills
Desirable:
Experience of guiding/coaching/mentoring others in business analysis skills
Experience developing Benefits mapping and Investment logic
Formal training/certification in BA practices or relevant experience
Some experience of working in a science / research / innovation environment
