We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised project professional to join our programme team and support the activities to deliver the outcomes of the Construction Sector Accord. This is a fixed-term role for 12 months and it will be fast-paced with high volume work, deadlines to manage and the chance to work with a team of professionals from government and industry to get this unit established and moving.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic person with a can-do attitude and very strong track record in project administration, a collaborative style with a delivery focus and stakeholder relationship skills. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a wide range of administration, coordination and reporting tasks across a number of work streams, all of which will be led by various representatives from across the construction sector.


You will enjoy the opportunity to;

  • Build and maintain effective working relations across MBIE and with external partners within the construction sector;
  • Provide support to the programme and other relevant teams to develop high quality project initiation and planning documents; and
  • Collate information in order to provide timely and concise reports to stakeholders on progress of the programme including risks and opportunities.


If you have demonstrated experience in the following areas, we would like to hear from you:

  • Demonstrated agility in supporting multiple teams and responding to changes in priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Proven track record of providing administrative support across all levels, especially to senior/executive leadership;
  • Wide-ranging knowledge of administration systems and processes;
  • Ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet deadlines and maintain the quality of services delivered; and
  • Knowledge and understanding of working within a government agency;

Construction Sector Accord

Launched in April 2019, the Construction Sector Accord sets out the outcomes sought for the New Zealand construction sector. The Prime Minister, Ministers and leaders across government and industry pledged their commitment to delivering culture change in order to develop a construction sector that will deliver for New Zealand.

The three-year plan sets out 21 initiatives across six major work streams that will create transformational change.
