About the Role │Kōrero mō te tūranga

New legislation needs to be introduced and our Climate Change Information System is undergoing an exciting upgrade and to help deliver this significant Programme we need an experienced Programme Coordinator to join our Programme team. 

You will provide Programme support and be the ‘go-to’ person for the delivery of the Climate Change Programme. 

The core responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Keeping the basics solid – so plenty of scheduling, planning, reporting, managing risks and issues and support with month end financials.
  • Leading on components of Programme work streams as agreed with the Programme Director.
  • Administering the distribution of developed communications collateral for internal and external audiences including Ministers, Our Treaty Partner and other key stakeholders.

 About You │Mōu

This is an exciting and vital Programme that has major implications for New Zealand’s commitment to our international Emissions Agreement and response to Climate Change. We need a motivated superstar to help us deliver this Programme. 

To be successful in this role, you will offer:

  • Exposure to large scale IT projects and programmes.  Experience of working on multi-million dollar initiative is key.  Total team size for the programme will exceed 50 staff across 3 projects on the programme. 
  • Intermediate to Expert skills in Microsoft project, visio and excel needed. Minimum 4 years current experience in programme/project co-ordination (not administration).
  • Strong exposure and experience with programme/project reporting, risk and issue management, dependency management.
  • It’s essential that you can demonstrate that you have recently had more than 4 years continuous experience as a programme / project co-ordinator on large scale initiatives.
  • Confident presenter, facilitator and comfortable working with groups of all sizes.
  • It is essential that you have a Prince2 or PMP certification.

Along with the above you will be a motivated self-starter with the ability to facilitate and maintain strong productive relationships with stakeholders.  You will also be able to evidence your ability to work with people to find solutions to complex issues and to deliver the best outcome across multiple work streams.
