Sport can break down barriers, create commonality and bring people together. Canterbury Cricket (CCA) and Mainland Football (MF) have partnered with Sport New Zealand and Sport Canterbury with the aim to build a more diverse supporter community, eliminate discrimination and encourage equal opportunities across all levels of both codes. As a result, they are looking for a Programme Manager to join their team on an 18-month fixed term contract to help them grow ethnic diversity across their sports. For information on both organisations please go to https://www.canterburycricket.org.nz/ and http://www.mainlandfootball.co.nz/.
Reporting into the CEO’s of Canterbury Cricket and Mainland Football you will be responsible for developing and successfully implementing Ethnic Diversity and Inclusion strategies and programmes internally and externally, across both sporting codes and the wider Canterbury community.
To succeed you will have a strong track record of working in the Diversity and Inclusion space specifically with ethnic minority communities. You will know how to respectfully build the relevance of Cricket and Football with ethnic minority communities and understand the role it can play in building engagement with the sports and the broader community.
In addition, you will be required to share thought leadership and best practice on all areas of Ethnic Diversity and Inclusion as well as helping identify key measurements, and monitoring progress across the two sporting codes. Developing existing and new relationships with key stakeholder groups and communities is a key aspect of this role as well as the importance to be self-sufficient while being part of a broader team.
