Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

The Mycoplasma bovis Programme has been operating since May 2018, and we’re working on a world-first effort to eradicate this cattle disease. The environment is dynamic with continual change; to thrive you will be an experienced Programme Manager who enjoys working at pace, is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and sometimes incomplete information to deal with complex problems.  An ability to retain objectivity and communicate with impact under pressure in a political and regulatory environment is essential. We’re passionate about what we do and enjoy working with like-minded colleagues who are interested in making a difference.

As Programme Manager you will have day to day operational management of the programme, including the delivery of agreed programme activities, overseeing and managing multiple project streams, including financial oversight.  Along with this you will ideally have a post-graduate qualification in management or a Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine or a related science field, and experience within a response environment.


Skills and Experience  

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

  • In excess of five years in a senior management role, ideally programme management.
  • Strategic leadership skills.
  • Experience in media management.
  • Understanding of Government financial management processes.
  • Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proven programme planning and project management skills.

The salary for this role is between $174,000 – $205,000
