  • How flexible are you?
  • Lead our Programme Support Function
  • Showcase your skills in programme compliance, financial management, reporting and monitoring
  • Make it easy for the Programme team to get things done, the right way

We’re seeking a programme guru to be part of the programme leadership team for a core MBIE work programme for the next 5 months.

We need someone who can lead our programme administration and coordination function and ensure that we’re complying with all the right MBIE processes across the programme.

This is a fixed-term opportunity based in MBIE’s Stout Street office, starting as soon as possible and running through to the end of July 2020.

You’ll be supporting the Ways We Work team as we complete the next phase of work, which is focused on flexible working at MBIE.

Working with the Programme leadership team, the successful person will:

  • Manage various governance group requirements including reports, papers, agendas and minutes
  • Ensure our finance and contract management practices are compliant
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling
  • Ensure EPMO compliance requirements are met, and
  • develop effective and efficient systems that work easily across the programme.

What you will need to bring

We need someone who already knows and understands the nature of MBIE, who can hit the ground running, and who knows how to get the job done to a high standard.

You’ll need to be able to pay great attention to detail, have strong financial nous, excellent written communication and planning skills, proven programme support management experience in a complex environment, plus you’ll be proficient on MS suite while Project and Visio is desirable.

We’d also like someone with positive energy, a great attitude, a good sense of humour, and who can work effectively with a range of people and personalities including staff management. If you’re curious about (or even an advocate for) flexible working, then even better!

What’s in it for you?

This is interesting, people-focused work that’s breaking new ground for MBIE. You’ll learn a lot about the mechanics of flexible working design, as well as organisational change and engagement.

You’ll get the opportunity to showcase your project and programme administration skills, and work with a motivated and energetic team. It’ll be hands-on work plus your innovative approach and new ideas will be embraced.
