About the role

This Project Manager role is based in Waikanae where you will take full responsibility for managing the construction phase through to completion. This is a role for someone with a background in commercial construction and experience with residential developments who truly cares about proper workmanship and a job well done. Because we own all the buildings we develop, and we’re building them to enhance our residents’ well-being, we do not compromise on quality.

Our project managers take full responsibility for the delivery of our village. You will have accountability to deliver the Village to the highest safety standards whilst maintaining a well-planned and efficient sequence of works. You will have accountability of budget and demand the highest standards.

You’ll work on the pre-construction, delivery and project handover which includes multiple staged deliveries. You will build the project team and engage our stakeholders and champion our One Team values, embrace our culture and foster strong internal and external relationships.

Project Manager Duties

  • Undertake preconstruction planning, including reviewing sequencing and staging requirements and project specific constraints
  • Manage construction performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Ensure successful handover of completed construction phases to Summerset Operations team
  • Place Health and Safety at the forefront of everything you do, ensuring your team and contractors do the same
  • Ensure quality standard are achieved
  • Foster an inclusive team culture that works effectively
  • Skills & Experience

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification (or relevant trade background) in a related discipline
  • Extensive Project Management experience and proven track record in end to end construction projects
  • Ability to programme manage the complexity of a $150m project
  • Proven history of excellent relationship building and management skills
  • Strong team approach to working with excellent interpersonal skills, including internal stakeholder management
  • Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles
  • Good understanding of procurement and supply chain challenges
  • Problem solving ability
