As a Project Manager in Inland Revenue you will be part of a dynamic team of project management professionals who are passionate about improving the economic and social wellbeing of New Zealanders.

We require a Project Manager to join our team for a fixed term period for 1 year (to 30 November 2020) working closely with facilities colleagues and business stakeholders to successfully deliver high profile accommodation projects for Inland Revenue.

You will take responsibility for the delivery of accommodation projects within our Property Portfolio Alignment Programme. You will need to draw on your experience and knowledge to manage dependencies and maximise potential opportunities as the organisation transforms and embraces new ways of working. This is a diverse and challenging role that will require you to maintain an enterprise-wide perspective whilst you deliver the project on time, within scope and budget, and to stakeholder satisfaction. You will lead, coach and empower the project team to produce results – even through ambiguity.

You will skilfully apply appropriate project management disciplines and tools and quickly master governance, organisational impact and change management frameworks. Your stakeholder management, whether relating to impacted staff, political stakeholders or senior management, will be key to your success in this role.

This is a diverse and challenging role, and will include:

  • Leading, coaching and empowering project teams to produce customer, staff and business focussed results;
  • Using appropriate and effective project management disciplines and tools to deliver projects on time, within scope and budget, and to stakeholder satisfaction;
  • Working with organisational project governance methodologies;
  • Working with organisational impact and change management methodologies; and
  • Accurately and clearly conveying information and ideas for a wide range of audiences including senior management, staff and external stakeholders.

    To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have proven project management delivery experience that includes government or large corporate environments;
  • Experience of delivering large relocation projects would be advantageous;
  • Have outstanding leadership skills, to motivate, inspire, coach and support our people and their development;
  • Have excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills;
  • Have experience working in environments with a degree of ambiguity;
  • Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills;
  • Have effective analytical and decision making skills; and
  • or the ability to quickly acquire this understanding
