Maritime NZ is the national maritime regulatory, compliance and response agency for the safety, security and environmental protection of coastal and inland waterways. As part of the wider ICT group, the IT Project delivery team delivers practical, elegant and feasible IT solutions to enable our people to get their work done. About you

We are looking for a solution focused Project Manager with the ability to engage at all levels of an organisation. You will deliver consistent project delivery support whatever the size and scope of the project. As a confident communicator, you will work with our customers to determine their requirements, agreeing frameworks and analysis that would best suit their needs. Being open-minded and having the ability and experience to work through a range of options will be key.

Ideally you will bring the following:

  • Proven success working collaboratively with project business owners managing end to end IT projects through the entire lifecycle
  • Confidence producing regular reporting and advice to stakeholders on all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Adept at using agile or waterfall methods and working within Maritime NZ project management guidance
  • Experience with the evaluation of project progression and the confidence to make recommendations and decisions on options as appropriate
  • Expertise in working with external vendors
  • Ability to network and collaborate with other Maritime NZ Project Managers and Business Change Advisor and contribute to building Maritime NZ project management capability
  • Provide work allocation, support and opportunities for growth to the Project Coordinator
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and looking for future opportunities
