Due to an internal promotion a key vacancy has opened within our largest Transformation Programme. This newly launched Programme is an investment into a new and improved infrastructure for NZ Post. We are embarking on our 10-year plan for growth and leading an exciting time of transformation and industry disruption. As our world changes, the volume of parcels we process every day is growing rapidly. To ensure we future-proof for this continued growth, we are investing in the transformation of our network to support our strategic goals over the next 10 years.

The Programme is looking for a Project Manager who will be primarily responsible for coordination of two key aspects. The first centred around the people and process elements of the transformation. This includes establishing SOPs, developing training materials and engaging with the Change team to drive site acceptance and adherence outcomes. As we are still in the early stages of our journey a lot of the current work is in discovery phase, therefore we are looking for someone who can lead a small team of experts to discover all the interconnectivities and coordinate the process of “where to from here”.

The second being around this role acting as the key liaison with external joint parties who are partnering us on our journey. This will involve building, developing and maintaining relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders from other key public sector organisations. Your strong business focus, and stakeholder management capabilities will hold you in good stead for this role. We also have a number of other key workstreams and change programmes underway and your ability to promote a “one-team” approach and manage the interconnectivities will be critical to your success. Likewise, your ability to “join the dots” and even identify the dots that others haven’t, will be essential.

To be successful in this role some key skills and attributes are required, these include:

  • Relevant practitioner qualifications including project management, agile and change management.
  • Experience project managing large scale logistics/production implementations involving complex mechanised automation.
  • Experience managing multiple parties including third party suppliers of automation solutions.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Project/Programme Management, Business Analysis using leading methodologies and processes.
  • Proven leadership experience across multifunctional projects and/or across multiple business units.
