We have a newly created opportunity available for a Projects Portfolio Manager, as part of our Transformation Office. Reporting to our GM Transformation Office this role will be an integral part of the establishment of our new Transformation Office.

This role is largely responsible for identifying, prioritizing and coordinating project and program resources engaged with all initiatives within the portfolio environment. As we are in set up phase this will also include establishing the parameters of our portfolio management approach and partnering with various Programme and Project Managers to build the reputation and capability of our portfolio management approach. Therefore, this role requires a deep understanding of best practise and an ability to coach leaders on its application, often at senior levels of our organisation. This role assumes the overarching responsibility for supporting leadership in their efforts at overseeing, managing and leveraging the entire life cycle of project investments and initiatives to optimally achieve enterprise goals and objectives.

Alongside this, the role is responsible for the delivery of an effective Quality Assurance function to assist project managers to execute well and deliver benefits.

The successful applicant for this role will possess several key skills and attributes:

  • Substantial experience operating as a portfolio manager in large complex organisations
  • 10+ years demonstrated experience increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs
  • Experience with Digital Transformation and customer experience improvement initiatives
  • Well tested and trusted relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing “upward” among senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching diverse teams
  • Experience operating in an Agile environment which is early into its journey
