The Team: What we do

Canterbury and West Coast DHBs are looking for a Project Specialist: Payroll and Rostering to join their Holidays Act Compliance Programme; a large, multi-stage change programme. Like many NZ employers, the complexity of the Holidays Act has led to areas of non-compliance. The programme team are responsible for working with stakeholders to identify, understand and fix existing compliance issues. The programme will impact several business-critical areas of daily operation; payroll/rostering systems, employee data, operational working practises and contractual arrangements.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing expert knowledge in the fields of payroll and rostering best practise for the Holidays Act Compliance Programme
  • Being a channel of communication and collaboration between the Payroll and Rostering operational teams, Technology team and the programme
  • Working with key stakeholders to review current working practises and providing support and consultation in developing and implementing improvements

Your skills will include the following:

  • Being an expert in payroll and rostering practise with a high degree of self-knowledge
  • The ability to digest and understand existing institutional knowledge and practise quickly and accurately
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound ability to interpret business needs and contribute to the development of effective solutions
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all organisational levels, be customer focused and committed to quality outcomes
  • Be a team player and champion for open channels of communication and collaboration
