Property Maintenance Officer/Builder – Pensioner Housing

We are looking for a Property Maintenance Officer/Builder to support the Legal & Property Team to provide a range of specialised building works, painting and building and repair/refurbishment work across Council owned Pensioner Housing. This role will carry out the bulk of these works, with assistance from outsourced plumbing and electrical contractors.

As our ideal candidate you will be a registered builder, with strong trade experience, ideally in multiple disciplines. In addition you will need to ensure safe practice processes for the delivery of timely and cost effective works, with adherence to requirements used in co-ordination of services.

The successful candidate, will undertake the following duties:

  • Carry out refurbishment works of pensioner flats in a structured and disciplined manner as per the unit specifications
  • Manage the delivery of supplies as and when required
  • Run toolbox meetings with sub-contractors
  • Management of sub-contractors on site
  • Assist appropriate contractors, as required, while ensuring that allocated tasks are carried out in an efficient manner ensuring industry best practice is used

You will need to be able to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks, be calm, efficient and self-motivated. Above all, you need to be able to work well with others and a healthy sense of humour is a must.
