Contract: Fixed term – part time  (32 hours per week), November 2020-June 2021

Salary: $53,000 to $74,000

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is in the Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Team. You will carry out health promotion activities, assessments, inquiries and enforcement relating to Liquor License applications under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, and the Smokefree Environments Act 1990.

You’ll have excellent inquiry, negotiation and presentation skills, be comfortable undertaking monitoring activities, and initiating enforcement action including evidence gathering, and writing Briefs of Evidence and presenting at hearings.

You’ll also be a polished written and oral communicator, able to present your work in crisp, simple language to a variety of audiences.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Public Health qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience and knowledge of the Safe and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 is desirable
  • Previous experience and knowledge of the Smokefree Environments Act 1990 is desirable
  • Health Protection officer designated or previous enforcement experience in other sectors is desirable
  • You will have knowledge of delivering, facilitating and/or co-ordinating health promotion programmes, campaign and projects
