About the roleWe are on the hunt for someone with an enthusiasm and a natural curiosity for analysis and data interpretation, health services development or planning. Research and analysis of public health information underpin this position, which will see you identify, gather, and assess information required to inform evidence-based planning and implementation of public health services in the Southern District. Quality improvement is an important component of this role, as the analyst will play a key role in the evaluation of these health initiatives conducted by Southern DHB. The analyst will contribute to the development of high-quality policy advice, health impact assessments, health needs analyses, monitoring and evaluation reports. About you You will be an excellent communicator, with the confidence to engage with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation as well as colleagues from partner organisations In order to be successful in this position, you will also need to demonstrate the following: Strong computing skills, including use of Microsoft Suite and Statistical Programmes/Programming Languages (Stata, R, Python, and SQL). Demonstrated ability to source, manipulate and report on data, both quantitative and qualitative. This may suit a recent graduate that has the above analytical/programming skills. Experience in programme planning, project management methodology, and developing outcome measures and evaluation. Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle deadlines and challenging workloads. Experience in a health setting is preferred, but not essential. As this is a district wide position, travel may be required, therefore a full and current NZ Driver’s License is required.
