The Team: What we do
The Public Health Nursing Service (PHN) is a community service based at Burwood Hospital that supports children transitioning to school and school aged children and their families/whanau.
Join us and work with the team that strives to bring services together into individualised plans for each child and their family/whānau.We are looking for an energetic, motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Public Health Nursing team to provide proficient quality care to children and families in the community.

In this role, you will be responsible for
Our Registered Nurses align with schools, have a case load of families from that community, as well as providing home visits to support children and families/whanau with their health concerns. Additional services include youth health clinics, B4 School Checks supporting specific general practices, school based vaccination programme, vulnerable children work with Children’s teams, Neonatal BCG vaccination clinics based at Christchurch Women’s and Burwood and Well Child services in two rural locations.
We are looking for someone who is committed and passionate to succeed in this role and who as a positive role model will work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure high standards of care and improved outcomes for our service users. In turn we offer you the opportunity to grow, learn and develop your own skills in community based nursing.
