What you will do
 
The Defence Shared Services Delivery team is looking for a Purchasing Officer to provide the effective and efficient processing of all Purchasing Orders received from teams/units throughout Burnham and carry out the ordering of supplies to fill these requirements.  
 
What we need
 
Delivering excellent customer service and going above and beyond for your customers is second nature to you.  You pride yourself on providing efficient and accurate service every time, using your initiative to find effective solutions for our customers and adapting to changing requirements.
 
Along with experience within a logistics, procurement or administrative role you will need to be computer savvy especially in MS office and ideally you will have worked with SAP previously.
 
It’s important in this role to bring a real sense of value to the relationships you build and the networks you create and as a confident communicator you will easily build rapport with customers and develop positive working relationships throughout Burnham.

  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
