Social service contracting at MSD
We partner for greater impact
The Ministry of Social Development’s purpose is to help New Zealanders to be safe, strong and independent.
We work closely with over 2,000 social sector organisations to have a greater impact for communities across Aotearoa. Procuring and contracting social services through NGOs, community organisations and other social service providers is one of the key ways MSD supports individuals, families and communities who need help.
We work in partnership with social service providers in the spirit of Kotahitanga, recognising that procurement and contracting can make a vital contribution to the wellbeing of New Zealanders. This is an important mechanism for driving real change and promoting accountability, transparency, inclusivity and sustainability in our work.
MSD’s contracting function includes procurement, contract management, contract administration, relationship management, reporting, planning and service guidelines. This provides valuable opportunities to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, such as MSD’s regional teams, other government agencies, and providers across New Zealand delivering life-changing services for Māori, Pacific, youth, people with disabilities and other communities.
Anyone interested in belonging to an inclusive and collaborative team, which cares about the wellbeing of New Zealanders and strives to make a difference for communities, will be a valuable addition to our social service contracting team at MSD.
MSD is a high-performing government agency with a focus on helping New Zealanders to be safe, strong and independent.
That means helping New Zealanders to get the support they require to participate positively in society and reach their potential.
A number of roles have opened up in our new social service contracting team. If you’re interested in doing work that makes a real difference for New Zealanders, check out our opportunities.
