Based in the heart of Maniapoto these roles have a key focus of looking after the visitor facilities and historic assets.
This is a crucial operational role and forms part of a small, close-knit Recreation and Historic team who maintain 5 huts and hundreds of kilometres of tracks and routes through the Pureora and Waitomo Forests.
From day to day the job can involve chainsaw clearing or scrub bar cutting tracks, route marking, maintaining or servicing huts, cleaning campsite toilets and much more.
A bit about you
You will have a positive, outgoing personality and enjoy working within a close-knit team. You will have practical field skills and be fit and strong enough to undertake a physical job. You will be confident interacting with people from all walks of life, and the natural ability to switch between tasks effortlessly.
There is local DOC accommodation available in both Te Kuiti and Pureora.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
