Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager you ll assist to review, tweak and create new recruitment processes, policies, documentation and systems. You ll have input to Employment branding, talent attraction strategies, and build quality supplier and recruitment partnerships. Your new team includes a Recruitment Specialist focusing on Census, and a Talent Acquisition Advisor who ll focus on graduate opportunities, talent pooling, career expos, overseas and local talent and the employee/applicant experience.  There is also a coordinator to ensure smooth administration. As a Specialist you ll advise on best practice, advertising and sourcing options, tools and systems, interview questions and generally how to get the best out of the recruitment process. There is plenty to do, but the focus is helping our Hiring Leaders attract, source and secure great talent for their teams, efficiently and consistently. 

To achieve great outcomes the following attributes are needed:

  • An open and fresh approach, inclusive and collaborative style and the desire to delight your customers.
  • Relevant recruitment experience with a mixture of internal and agency experience. Or experience in a Human Resources generalist role that included a large component of recruitment and talent management.
  • Experience writing advertisements suitable for today s platforms (smart-phones, online print) including an understanding and awareness of language suitable to attract various audiences.
  • Experience and confidence using an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) to its full capability.
  • Demonstrable research skills e.g. Boolean search and experience using multiple sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn, Seek, Candidate Databases etc.
  • Knowledge/familiarity or a commitment to learn/understand Te Ao Maori, including ensuring opportunities at Stats NZ reach the Maori community.
