About the role – Mō te tūnga

As a Regional Litigation Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, leading and developing a legal team
  • Ensuring the delivery of high quality legal advice and advocacy
  • Collaborating with the other legal managers to ensure best practice and national consistency
  • Risk, finance and resource management
  • Stakeholder management – creating trust-based relationships with the judiciary, external counsel, social work staff and others who work with tamariki
  • Spearheading projects of interest and nationwide effect

  • Experience in driving high performance and continuous improvement
  • Expertise in leading others to be their best
  • Absolute dedication to the vision and values of Oranga Tamariki
  • A commitment to developing the cultural capability of the legal team, particularly in relation to Te Reo and Te Ao Māori.
  • A qualification as a Barrister and Solicitor with a current practising certificate is preferable as is experience in litigation and/or family law.
