What you’ll be doing:
This is a senior role that involves developing strong credible relationships with a diverse portfolio of our customers – NZ specialised manufacturing export businesses – and managing our regional business community relationships. You will be based in a business hub office in Whangarei and your focus will be on networking locally, being the voice of NZTE within the wider Northland business and council community.
Your customers will be in a mature stage of their export journey with a healthy pipeline of customers due to enter your portfolio. You will actively engage with them to plan and deliver a work programme which strengthens their confidence and capability to export internationally.

You will need to have a collaborative and outcomes focused working style combined with the ability to problem solve and connect your customers to the right experts to address challenges and raise opportunities. You will cover a region from Matakana to The Far North. Regular travel to Auckland will be required to connect with your team. You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and a strong communicator who easily builds rapport. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and remotely connecting with the broader NZTE team will be essential. An understanding of te ao Māori and tikanga is valued.
