The Team: What we do
The Spinal Unit is one of the only two nationwide spinal cord injuredrehabilitation centres in New Zealand. The Burwood Spinal Unit is a leading rehabilitation centre and we want you to join our dedicated team providing top class care.
A patient’s journey in the spinal unit is complex and challenging with highs and lows, so we need you to be positive and passionate about rehabilitation to ensure our patients reach their full potential. You’ll need excellent communication skills, flexible thinking and an interest in innovative and emerging therapies.
The Role: Where you fit in
You’ll have a strong rehabilitation focus, a desire to learn and an understanding of the social needs and backgrounds of patients and their families/whanau. The units offer social rostering, however, flexibility is still required as you will be expected to be available for all shifts. Professional development is encouraged on the unit and supported by our Charge Nurse Managers.
A good sense of humour, the ability to develop rapport with patients and colleagues, and exceptional team work will go a long way in this environment and ensure you assist patients overcome multi-faceted challenges.
