  • Fixed-term position 0.8 FTE Gerontology Rotation Nurse

Picture this….You’re a NZ registered nurse working in a unique gerontology rotation nurses programme in a supportive and friendly team environment. The SDHB offers a 24 month programme which provides extended learning opportunities and experience for Registered Nurses working with our gerontology population.

The criteria will include the following:

  • Ideally at least two years recent experience as a Registered Nurse
  • New entry to practice graduate
  • Post graduate papers or a willingness to achieve same

This programme provides the opportunity for nurses to participate in clinical rotations which may include acute medical, older persons’ health assessment, treatment and rehabilitation, OPAL Unit Older Peoples Assessment and Liaison Unit, Home Team Community Rehabilitation and Aged Residential Care settings,in conjunction with postgraduate education to enhance your knowledge, skills and understanding of the older persons journey through the care continuum.
