The team:

As a Release Train Engineer (RTE) you are a Chief Scrum Master; a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). You will be part of a team of Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches and have a lean-agile mind-set.

The role:

The RTE’s major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the team to drive end-to-end delivery of value. RTE’s manage and optimise flow through the ART.  RTE’s communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

Technical skills:

Knowledge of or exposure to a combination of the following:

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe);
  • Experience presenting to and facilitating large groups both teams and senior leaders;
  • Advanced negotiation skills;
  • Comfortable delivering difficult messages tactfully.

Additional skills:

Experience in, or knowledge of:

  • Managing large programmes of work;
  • Risk and dependencies management;
  • Understanding and development of meaningful metrics;
  • Good listening and questioning skills;
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
