  • Division:
  • Summary:

We’re New Zealand’s innovation agency and we’re looking for someone who is creative in their thinking and can bring another view to this newly established position. We’re flexible about the working hours so this could really suit someone who is returning to the workforce or looking to get a bit more balance in their life. Flexible locations may mean that you can say goodbye to that dreaded commute too.

We’ve recently outsourced our payroll function and we need someone who has had a background in payroll and now wants to expand their skills. Cue the other part of the job title. We have data and numbers which we love, and we need someone who can help us truly understand what they are telling us so we can share and use them to inform business decisions.

What you’ll be working on

We have around 400 people and most of them are salaried. You’ll manage the relationship with our payroll provider and will co-ordinate our sign off processes ensuring our people get paid accurately and on time. You’ll manage payroll queries from our people (you’ll be someone who enjoys being connected to our people and visible in our business) and you’ll compile data for Select Committee questions, Parliamentary questions, OIA requests and our annual/quarterly reporting. Your creativity will be realised when you craft information based on data that really tells a story. It’s a great opportunity to stamp your mark on how we do things.

To shine in this role, you’ll have the following:

  • A solid understanding of payroll processes and platforms
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice
  • Significant experience with payroll systems and a good understanding of payroll software
  • An eye for detail and a desire to get the most from data
  • A passion for using information to inform, engage and support the business to achieve success

In return we can offer flexibility to work part time within core business hours and a fantastic manager. She trusts her people to get on with what they do (they’re the experts) but is there when you need her.
