The Faculty of Law at the University of Otago was established in 1873 as the first law school in New Zealand. The University of Otago is a research-intensive university with a long history of excellence and a leader in legal research within New Zealand. The Law Faculty is situated in Dunedin, New Zealand’s renowned University city.

The role

The Faculty of Law is committed to high quality legal research and education. We invite applications for a Research Assistant to undertake research for academic members of the Faculty across a wide range of legal fields.

The successful candidate will be responsible to Professor Andrew Geddis and will be supervised by a Faculty member.

Your skills and experience

The successful applicant will have:
• A legal qualification or be well advanced in obtaining one.
• Skills in finding and collating legal material.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

This is a part time (18.75 hours week), fixed term (5 January 2022 – 23 December 2022) position.
