Accommodation | Ngā Wharenoho provides a safe and supportive residential study environment for 4,500 students in 2020.The opportunityThe University is looking for a Resident Manager for our North UniLodges. This self-catered community encompasses our new property Te Tirohanga o Te Tōangaroa (488 beds) and UniLodge – ANZAC/Beach (323 beds).The roleReporting to the Head of Operations for Accommodation, you will have responsibility for the pastoral care, residential experience and university administration for this community. You will manage a Resident Coordinator and team of Resident Advisers (student staff). This manager will also work closely with UniLodge who facilitate front desk and operational services for the University.We are seeking a capable manager who can lead the development of a community that is safe, comfortable, supportive, conducive to academic success, and responsive to the needs of students/guests in residence.POSITION DESCRIPTIONWho are we looking for?You will role model appropriate sociability for your accommodation community as well as high levels of customer care for staff in your residence. This role lives off-site and needs to be prepared to respond to critical incidents when required. After hours/weekend on-call is shared with a team of professional staff. You will be warm and open in your personal style but with a level of personal integrity that allows you to maintain consistent and respectful standards of behaviour within a community tolerant of diverse perspectives and needs.As a pragmatic manager, you will be able to deliver a high-quality service to our student residents. As a person with great empathy you will be attuned and responsive to the needs of the residents in your care. Experience working within a similar environment is desirable and staff management is essential.
