About us:
Te Maioha o Parekarangi is one of four youth justice residences across New Zealand which is run by Oranga Tamariki – Ministry for Children. We provide a secure 24/7 environment for up to 30 challenging young people aged 14-17 who are on remand or sentenced via Youth Court. The residence promotes individual change and growth through specialist education services, clinical services, individual and group programmes, and physical activities.

Our ultimate goal is to help every young person we work with to realise their potential. We help them transition into education, training, or employment, and to a safe and stable living arrangement when they leave our care.
