Casual Resource Workers x 5 – Bay of Plenty Region
At Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, we are committed to putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do and say. We value the wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi above all else. We want to ensure that all children and young people are in loving whānau and communities.
We are seeking five casual Resource Workers in the Bay of Plenty region to provide support services to tamariki and rangatahi. We have two types of casual Resource Worker roles.
For the first type of casual work the duties include:
For this type of casual work the bulk of the hours will be between the hours of 7:30am and 7:30pm, Monday to Sunday with the flexibility to work outside these hours on occasions.
For the second type of casual work the main duty is relieving at the Kaupapa Māori Transition homes.
The Kaupapa Māori Transition home is a place of safety where tamariki can get on with life, while we work to transition them to a permanent placement with whānau, hapu or iwi.
The role of a casual Resource Worker in the Kaupapa Māori Transition home is to provide the Kaitiaki (caregivers) respite by looking after up to six tamariki in their care. This is usually a block assignment that can cover a 24 hour period for several days in a row, as you will have a live-in role in the home.
