RMA Planner

Part-time up to 28 hours per week flexible

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is Aotearoa’s primary agency for historic heritage protection and advice. We have a vacancy for RMA Planner based in either our Kerikeri or Auckland offices, covering the Northland region.

Northland is known not only for its beauty and climate, but also as one of New Zealand’s most significant historic heritage areas. HNZPT manages some nationally significant historic places including: Kerikeri Mission, Pompallier Mission, Waimate Mission, Clendon House, Ruatuna and Māngungu Mission.

There is a variety of planning work including:

  • Assessments of and submissions on resource consent and District plans and policies
  • Preparation and management of regional and/or district resource consents processes
  • Consent compliance management
  • Assessment of Effects on the Environment preparation
  • Coordinating and advising on resource consenting projects
  • Providing evidence at hearings
  • Preparation and lodging of submissions and appeals

Your everyday business will involve working with our multi-disciplinary heritage team and councils to establish relationships with iwi and local communities, infrastructure agencies, property owners and developers.

A post graduate qualification in RMA Planning is essential, with a minimum of 3 years experience required.
