**About the role**

This is an exciting time to be a Road Safety Engineer in New Zealand and Stantec are leading the charge. Stantec has a healthy and diverse workload and we are looking to strengthen our team in Wellington with people skilled in some or all of the following areas:

•tPublic and/or Private sector developments

We work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide cost-effective, practical, innovative technology and engineering solutions. Our current projects are being implemented across all of Asia Pacific. There will be a mix of transportation projects, including council, NZ Transport Agency and private sector

Day to day tasks would involve:

•tProvide technical expertise in road safety and traffic engineering

•tInvestigations, studies, analysis and reporting, and scheme and detailed designs

•tTechnical leadership and development support to junior staff

•tMaintain technical and professional standards

•tAssist in project management as requested

•tProvide specialist inputs to expressions of interest and proposals

•tDevelop and maintain strong private and public sector client relationships.

**Qualifications:**

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

•tRelevant technical qualification e.g. BEng, NZCE, BEngTech, Dip Eng

•tMinimum 5 years’ relevant professional experience in road safety and/or traffic engineering

•tBe working toward professional registration with EngNZ or an equivalent professional body

•tDemonstrated knowledge of road safety and traffic engineering

•tExcellent investigation, analytical and report writing skills

•tAble to build trust and provide support to peers and clients

•tExperience in both the public and private sectors

•tA valid New Zealand drivers’ licence.
