Put your exceptional organisational and priority-setting skills to the test Be part of the political landscape at the core of Executive Government Ministerial Services is developing a larger pool of experienced staff to provide support services to members of the Executive. These roles will provide both cover for staff in Ministerial offices while they are on leave as well as surge support in times of high need. These are ‘Events-based’ roles for the duration of the 53rd Parliament. As part of that team, we’re looking for an experienced team leader who can manage across teams of people in different Ministerial Offices as our staffing needs change. If you enjoy the flexibility of moving between offices and working with different people on a regular basis, pride yourself on your highly developed interpersonal skills and can deliver an excellent level of support to Ministers and their office teams, then read on! You will be a dedicated and committed team player, exceptionally well organised with effective people leadership ability, planning and co-ordination skills. A keen eye for detail is a must, as is the ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to competing and changing priorities. You will bring with you an excellent understanding of existing government, parliamentary and public service protocols and processes, and a demonstrated ability to relate to and quickly gain the confidence of the Minister (or senior manager) team members and a diverse group of stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will have the demonstrated ability to work well as a team player and collaboratively across teams. You will thrive under pressure and can juggle competing priorities and responsibilities at short notice. A flexible approach to work is valued, along with excellent communication skills. Previous experience in this role, or on the Parliamentary Complex is highly desirable. Applicants must be permanent residents or NZ Citizens and are required to obtain and maintain a national security clearance (at a minimum level of ‘Confidential’).
