Safety and Wellbeing Trainers
The Department of Corrections runs New Zealand’s correction system. It has over 9,000 staff handling the management of 10,500 prisoners and more than 30,000 community-based offenders. Health, safety and wellbeing are integral parts of all that we do and we have a clear vision to ensure that everyone goes home safe, every single day.
The Safety and Wellbeing Function exists to support and enable the Department’s various teams to achieve phenomenal health, safety and well-being outcomes. This is done by setting a clear strategic direction, providing clear and useable guidance and resources, providing day-to-day business partnering advice, and enabling learning and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Safety and Wellbeing Capability, the primary purpose of the Safety and Wellbeing Trainer is to effectively deliver high quality health, safety and wellbeing capability programmes to frontline staff, managers and leaders throughout the organisation to enable a continued improvement in the department’s improving health, safety and wellbeing culture and performance.

The salary range (85% – 120%) for this role is $75,409 to $106,459 with $88,716 at 100% of the range. Appointment will be based on skills and experience relevant to the role.
