About the role:

Are you seeking a new challenge that will leverage your analytical and planning skills? This is a unique opportunity to make your mark on a major new programme of work to improve compliance with New Zealand’s immigration system and reduce migrant exploitation.

This newly created permanent role is in Strategy, Engagement and Education group within Immigration New Zealand.

As Sector Planning Analyst, you will play a key in enabling the group to change the way we engage with business sectors such as hospitality and construction. You will work collaboratively with Sector Strategy Managers to design and develop effective frameworks, templates and tools that enable effective and consistent strategy development and planning across the sector engagement team.

You will provide high quality analysis, insights, advice and recommendations to inform sector strategies and plans. You will work closely with other analysts across Immigration New Zealand to ensure that strategies and plans are aligned, validated and able to be effectively operationalised.

What you will bring to the role:

As Sector Planning Analyst, you will have extensive experience in strategic analysis, including working with impact analysis tools and methodologies in a complex business environment. You will have proven experience in providing high quality analysis that supports and enables the development of robust integrated strategies and plans.

We are keen to hear from you if you:

  • Have sound relationship management skills
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of business process design and analysis, risk management, systems thinking, business planning and benefits realisation
  • Have proven ability to work with numbers and cost out options to support recommendations with quantitative data
  • Have excellent communications, self-management and interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent writing skills, with proven ability to clearly articulate analysis and ideas
  • Have proven skills in computer software packages, including project management, word processing, PowerPoint and analytical skills
  • Can demonstrate the ability to work within a team environment and establish collaborative working relationships inside and outside the organisation
  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification or extensive and comparable relevant experience
  • Are a New Zealand Citizen, or hold a residence class visa, and are able to gain and maintain a national security clearance

This position is based in the Sector, Engagement and Education branch within Immigration New Zealand.
