The Ministry for Women, Te Minitatanga mō ngā Wāhine, is improving outcomes for New Zealand women. We are the Government’s principal advisor on achieving better results for New Zealand women. We identify and take action where women and girls remain disadvantaged. We build evidence to influence others, publicising issues, and providing advice and support to national policy and local initiatives that improve lives for women and girls.
With a full and interesting work programme for 2020 and beyond, we are looking for talented policy professionals to support us with our work programme.
What these roles offer
The opportunity to work in a small ministry that is a system leader on gender-responsiveness across a diverse range of policy areas. Because we are small our ability to lead policy thinking and influence others is critically important. Day to day interaction will be with team colleagues, the Leadership Team and the Minister’s office, as well as people within and outside the public service.
We operate a ‘one-Ministry’ culture where everyone pitches in and where diversity is valued. Diversity means seeking as wide a range of views and opinions into our work as possible so we can serve all women and girls in New Zealand. We value work life balance and have a range of flexible work options. The Ministry selects on capability, not gender, and welcomes applications from candidates who have/demonstrate the qualities listed in the attached job descriptions for each role.
