We are seeking a Senior Administrator who can provide dedicated, efficient, high quality, and confidential administrative support to the Institute of Education at our Albany Campus.

The role will include providing support to the Albany based Associate Head of School and academic staff as well as the Administration Services Manager. Academic programmes and finance administration are also part of this role working collaboratively with other professional staff including the Business Support Officer. This person will become an integral part of the wider team within the Institute of Education.

The role requires this person to have:

  • strong interpersonal communication skills, being receptive and helpful when dealing with a diverse range of people within the university and externally
  • some knowledge of Te reo Māori me ngā tikanga Māori or Pacific People’s languages and cultures would be advantageous
  • excellent organisational skills and the ability handle varying levels of complexity and meet multiple deadlines
  • highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and cooperatively as an effective team member, with absolute discretion when dealing with sensitive situations and confidential matters
  • strong problem-solving attitude and capabilities, with a high level of maturity, initiative and personal integrity
  • proven ability for accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to question.
