Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the Role

The Plant and Pathways directorate is looking for two Senior Adviser Treatments to contribute to and help deliver key treatment outcomes of the biosecurity treatment programme. The position will help coordinate a whole-of-MPI approach for the monitoring and management of biosecurity treatments both onshore and offshore and, help build the toolbox of biosecurity treatments now and for the future. 

Mōu – About You

  • Post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline such as Agriculture, Entomology, Chemistry, Chemical or Material Process Engineering, Plant Pathology or, equivalent knowledge or skills and experience in a similar role
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A reasonable period of time (5+ years) working in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in development of treatments/crop protection programmes on one or more of the following: fumigants, fungicides, nematicides pesticides, and/or temperature treatments
  • Experience analysing and summarizing complex quantitative information from multiple sources
  • Knowledge and experience in strategy development and implementation
  • Experience in developing and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders.
