The Senior Advisor (Business Continuity) is a critical role that works across business units within the Ministry of Health to ensure that the Ministry is a resilient organisation and is able to continue function to the fullest possible extent during an emergency or event.

 

Working within the emergency management team, you will have sound operational experience of implementing business continuity management, as well as in supporting an incident response team during an incident. You will also work across government departments to share best practice and look at developing and enhancing support to business continuity within the wider health and disability sector.

 

Sitting within our Population Health and Prevention directorate, we work across sectors to achieve health equity and protect, promote and improve the health and wellbeing of people, families and communities. The Directorate includes our key national public health functions, emergency management, the National Screening Unit and a range of population health programmes such as child health, Pacific Health, tobacco control, immunisation, and cancer control.

 

The Senior Advisor is responsible for providing technical advice on business continuity management to Ministry staff and to support the delivery of the Ministry’s Business Continuity Management work programme. We are looking for someone who has several years’ experience in delivering business continuity management in a large organsiation and will be familiar with business continuity methodology, preferably demonstrated through relevant accreditation or tertiary qualification.

 

This role is based in Wellington and provides the opportunity to practice business continuity in a large and diverse government department with locations across the country and policy and operational functions.

 

You will ideally have tertiary or professional accreditation in business continuity management as well as experience gained working in New Zealand, Australia, UK, USA or Canada and the ability to gain and maintain a National Security Clearance.
