The Engagement and Partnerships Group is accountable for leading effective agency governance, stakeholder engagement and communications, and regional relationships so we are supported to achieve our goals through great organisational storytelling, effective cross government facilitation, sound reputation management and strengthened relationships with our partners.
Our team is dynamic, working across the business to understand who our stakeholders are, how we connect with them and work with them to achieve the outcomes being sought by their communities. Our role is to provide strategic direction to the business in this work as well as advice and the tools to be successful.

This is an exciting time to join Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency. As well as our existing work we are also gearing up to deliver an exciting new range of projects and programmes. This includes implementing visionary strategies to make our transport system safer, reforming our regulatory function and planning and delivering projects as part of the Government’s recently announced NZ Upgrade Programme.
We are looking for great new talent across all levels and have opportunities for programmes and projects in in a variety of locations around the country.
You’ll offer advice and provide communications and engagement planning and delivery for these projects and programmes of work to ensure Waka Kotahi is well supported to achieve its goals.
As our Senior Advisor, your role will be to help connect people with Waka Kotahi and champion our reputation through best practice engagement and communications. Dealing with external and internal parties across the business, you will have strong stakeholder engagement and relationship development skills. You will be innovative and creative, a self-starter and be able to manage ambiguity. Identifying opportunities and making improvements are important aspects you will be bring.
