WorkSafe New Zealand is looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Energy Safety team.  This is a crucial management advisory role reporting to the Manager Energy Safety and supporting the balance of business-as-usual operations and strategic activity.  As Senior Advisor you will:

  • Provide strategic advice
  • Coordinate, plan and deliver on operational plans, programmes and activities
  • Manage relationships and communication across the wider group and wider WorkSafe.

To be successful you will have:

  • Two years in a similar role providing management advice in a regulatory environment
  • Relationship management and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Skills  in planning, organising, monitoring and measuring programmes of work and performance
  • Demonstrated ability in managing risk and regulatory risk management.
  • Technical understanding of gas and electrical supply and utilisation.

WorkSafe is New Zealand’s primary workplace health and safety regulator. Our Chief Executive Phil Parkes leads over 550 staff based across New Zealand, who are working to lift health and safety performance.

Our Energy Safety team regulate electricity and gas safety throughout New Zealand.  We facilitate the safe supply and use of gas and electricity and enforce the requirements of the Electricity and Gas Acts, the associated Regulations and Standards.
