About our team
The Regional Economic Development (RED) is an across-Government initiative aimed at helping achieve increased wellbeing for New Zealanders through productive, sustainable and inclusive economic growth. The Government’s $3 billion Provincial Growth fund is major driver for these opportunities.
The Regional Economic Development directorate is looking for a Senior Adviser who can enable sustainable economic development opportunities in the primary sector.
About the role
As a Senior Adviser you will be very good at working with others to identify, develop and assess opportunities for the sustainable development of the primary sector. You will be skilled at developing networks and relationship with local businesses, regional and district councils, central government agencies, Maori and other relevant community groups. You will be skilled at sizing up proposals from an economic, social and environmental perspective. To do this you will draw on your knowledge of the primary sector and the trends that are driving its development and be skilled at accessing in depth expertise from within MPI and other organisations.
