Do you want to help New Zealand’s households and businesses to improve the way they use energy, reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, and tackle climate change? Then this may be the role for you.

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) is a government agency whose purpose is to mobilise New Zealanders to be world leaders in clean and clever energy use.

This role will join our Government Engagement team, which works with our delivery teams to represent EECA to the Minister and other government agencies. We leverage our policy expertise to promote EECA’s authoritative voice on the benefits of energy efficiency, renewables and emissions reduction by providing advice that is compelling, relevant, consistent and authoritative.

The successful candidate will need to work proactively and collaboratively across government to identify opportunities, risks, and to satisfy the requirements of the Minister, in a fast-moving and exciting sector. You will work with senior leaders at EECA and other agencies, and take a lead role in making sure EECA’s influence is felt across government.

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in a related subject (public policy, economics, social sciences, or other relevant discipline) or equivalent work experience. You will have proven policy or analytical experience in the government sector, an ability to lead with initiative, and an ability to ensure EECA’s advice to the Minister and to other Government agencies is credible and influential.

This is your chance to join a dynamic organisation with a strong focus on delivery. EECA is doing meaningful work that has a tangible impact on the lives of New Zealanders – and we need your help.
