This is an exciting opportunity to put your experience gained working in the social, justice or NGO sectors to effective use working on high profile issues and being part of making a significant difference to the lives of New Zealanders.

Provider and Community Services designs, purchases and manages justice services for vulnerable people in our communities. The services include: domestic violence programmes, restorative justice, community legal services, victims’ services and family dispute resolution. We work with more than 200 community-based service providers and with other government agencies across the justice and social sector.

The Senior Advisor establishes and leads operational and strategic relationships with providers and other justice agencies, develops and maintains contracts and standards, and engages with policy development in existing and new initiatives. This role will have a focus on ensuring that services are responsive to the needs of our clients, including the way we procure services for Māori and partner with Māori service providers.  The Senior Advisor produces – and coaches others to produce – high quality written work including briefings, consultation papers and communication materials.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • be a highly motivated Senior Advisor with solid operational policy skills, a good understanding of the NGO sector and community needs
  • have excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skill
  • demonstrate experience in designing effective interventions, and procuring, contracting and managing funding relationships with the NGO sector.
  • be comfortable working in Te Ao Māori 

The role is available until 30 May 2019.

Salary Band: $74,779 – $101,171
