About the team:Our regulatory guidance design team works across the whole maritime transport system – including central government, local government, the commercial sector, industry organisations, NGO’s and the recreational boating sector. We develop regulatory guidance products to help keep our seafarers and their passengers safe from harm; and to protect our oceans, lakes, and rivers from marine pollution. In this role you will; Lead projects that deliver high quality and timely regulatory guidance; Ensure that guidance is consistent with Maritime NZ guidance standards, reflects good regulatory theory and practice, and reflect the law and technical advice; Work across our organisation and with partner agencies to effectively communicate key guidance messages to target audiences for maximum impact, using appropriate tools and channels; Work collaboratively across the wider team so that resources are deployed as required to achieve the wider regulatory policy programme as led by the Manager Regulatory Policy. To do this, you will engage with other government agencies, Maritime NZ operational staff, and sector representatives from across our wide range of activity. You will have proven experience leading or substantively contributing to the development of effective regulatory guidance and information for a range of diverse audiences.
