People may be surprised where MPI’s work takes our people – we operate across the country in a range of environments from farms, orchards, forests and oceans to airports, ports, transitional facilities and corporate offices.  Whether working over water, protecting our borders or traversing our country’s regions, the days are never dull.

MPI’s internal Safety and Wellbeing team is looking for someone to join our team to progress MPI’s critical risks work.  This person will engage with our branches and business units to analyse and report back on how MPI’s critical risks impact each area of the business.  This is a 12-month, fixed term role.


Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role:

You will be engaging with stakeholders across MPI’s branches and business units to:

  • confirm and update activities where each risk may be present
  • identify who undertakes these activities and how they are carried out
  • confirm, update and provide feedback on existing controls
  • determine best practice and identify any areas for improvement or organisational consistency


Mōu – About You:

You do not need to have health and safety experience to be successful in this role.  What you will have are transferable skills – based on your experience as a Business Analyst or Policy Analyst for example – that you can use to engage stakeholders across MPI’s branches and business units in order to extract, collate and analyse information.

You will have:

  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to carry a discussion and lead engagement with stakeholders
  • Strong report-writing skills
  • The ability to solve problems, derive solutions and deliver success within given timeframes
