Massey University is looking to appoint a new Senior Advisor in Student Engagement which will be based within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Students and Global Engagement.

This role is available as a full-time or part-time position and can be positioned at any of our three campuses in Auckland, Wellington, or Palmerston North.

The Senior Advisor, Student Engagement will be responsible for providing advice and coordination for our approach to Student Engagement and Voice within the DVC Office of Students and Global Engagement and in its related areas. This role includes oversight and application of professional development in student engagement initiatives, including working with student groups and associations across campuses to provide advice for the portfolio directorate on best practice.

To be successful in this role we have a preference for the following:

  • Candidates who have studied at University in New Zealand (either currently or previously)
  • Previous experience as a sabbatical officer within a student association
  • Prior experience in advice and/or leading student engagement initiatives within a tertiary setting or other educational settings
  • A proven ability to uphold the integrity of New Zealand as a bi-cultural country, across a range of situations and settings
  • Demonstratable capacity for providing advice, and a proven record of accomplishment of developing strong and effective relationships in the achievement of strategic outcomes
